Setup Tips from MAA Instructors

📐
Position matters
Yoke center should be at elbow height when seated upright. Rudder pedals flat on the floor, heel resting — same as a real C172.
🎧
Add ATC audio
Enable ATC audio in X-Plane and plug in headphones. You'll hear real phraseology — direct preparation for your first radio call.
📋
Use a real checklist
Print or display a Cessna 172 checklist beside your sim. The habit you build here transfers directly to the aircraft.
🗒️
Log your hours
Keep a simple spreadsheet or use SimToolkitPro. MAA instructors may count structured sim time toward your ground school curriculum.
